WORKSHOP TERMS AND CONDITIONS


1. A non-refundable deposit of the amount stated in the workshop description is required at the time of booking. 

2. The balance on the cost of the workshop will be due 90 days before the workshop starts. If full payment is not received by the specified dates we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled and retain the deposit.

3. If a booking is made less than 90 days prior to the departure date, the full cost of the workshop is payable at the time of booking 

4. Cancellation Policy:

If for any reason you need to cancel your booking the below will apply:

All deposits are non-refundable.

If you decide to cancel and your spot is filled, we will refund you the full amount you have paid, minus a £300 administrative fee.

However, if you cancel and your spot is not filled, we will refund you based upon the following schedule:

180 days or more before beginning of the workshop: 20% of the total workshop cost is forfeited
180-90 days prior to beginning of workshop: 50% of the total workshop cost is forfeited
90-30 days prior to beginning of workshop: 75% of the workshop cost is forfeited
Less than 30 days: 100% of the total workshop cost is forfeited

5. Richard Watson reserves the right to cancel any workshop. Should an alteration or cancellation become necessary, you will have the choice of accepting the change, taking an alternative workshop (and where this is of a lower price we will refund the difference), or withdrawing from the workshop and accepting a refund of all monies paid to Richard Watson.

6. Under booking is the situation in which the minimum number of bookings required to run a workshop is not met, and if we have to cancel a workshop because of this we will not do so less than 60 days prior to departure. Force majeure is unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control such as war or the threat of war, riots, terrorist activity, civil strife, industrial disputes, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, flood or adverse weather. Richard Watson will not be liable for any loss due to forms of force majeure leading to a workshop being cancelled.

7. In the event of Richard Watson being unable to attend due to illness or other circumstances beyond our control another workshop leader will be appointed. If this is not possible, the workshop will be cancelled and refunded minus deposit.

8. If you have any special dietary or other requests you should inform Richard Watson of these prior to departure. We will advise the relevant supplier of your requirements, but we cannot guarantee that such requests will be met and will have no liability to you if such requests are not met.

9. Where airport/hotel transfers are included in the cost of a workshop, such transfers are only included when participants travel on the flights specified by us. Participants arriving or departing on different flights will be responsible for their own transfer costs and arrangements. Flight booking is the client’s responsibility and Richard Watson is not responsible for any expenses, loss or other damage caused to you by the acts or omissions of the carrier.

10. The type of workshops we offer requires flexibility and you must allow for alternatives. For this reason the outline itinerary and the workshop description must be taken as an indication of what may take place on the workshop, and not as a contractual obligation on the part of Richard Watson .

11. Richard Watson does not accept liability or responsibility for death, bodily injury or illness caused to any clients booking a workshop. Any workshop is potentially hazardous, and all tours may involve crossing rough terrain by foot. It is essential that all lawful directions and advice of the tour operator be followed. Richard Watson does not accept responsibility for any illness, accident or loss whatsoever incurred in the course of the workshop or for any expense from such illness, accident or loss, and this includes any loss of equipment, personal possessions, valuables, bodily injury, illness taking place during any workshop or while taking part in any optional activities.

12. Richard Watson does not accept liability for any loss or additional expense caused by the delay or interruption to travel services through weather conditions, civil disturbance, industrial action, strikes, wars, floods or sickness. Such losses or additional expenses are the responsibility of the passenger.

13. All participants must understand that varying levels of fitness are required for each workshop and a measure of physical activity is involved in all workshops.  It is the responsibility of each participant to advise us prior to departure of any specific medical conditions. Some workshops are at altitude and involve long hikes. Workshops frequently involve travel to remote locations during the day and night, where medical, refreshments and toilet facilities are not readily accessible and/or available.

14. It is a booking requirement that all participants take out comprehensive travel insurance. This is totally up to you to arrange prior to any tour or workshop you may have booked. This should be done at the time your booking is confirmed and your deposit paid. All participants should be fully insured against accident, all medical eventualities, repatriation, cancellation, curtailment and default. Richard Watson will not be held responsible for loss or damage to baggage and personal effects. This should also be covered by your travel insurance policy.

15. All clients must be in possession of a valid passport and all visas, permits and certificates including medical certificates required for the whole of the journey and the client accepts responsibility for obtaining the same. All information and advice given by us on visas, vaccinations, climate, clothing, baggage and special equipment is given in good faith.

16. Richard Watson reserves the right to take photographs or videos during the operation of any workshop and to use the resulting photography in whole or in part for promotional purposes, including, but not limited to: advertising and publicity both in print and electronic media. By booking a workshop with Richard Watson, participants agree to allow their images to be used in such photography. Participants who prefer that their image not be used are asked to identify themselves to Richard Watson at the commencement of their workshop.
